What is PRP?
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) for hair regrowth is very effective, in-office, nonsurgical procedure. PRP, an autologous treatment derived from patient’s own blood. Hardly one hour required to perform PRP. Basically, during the PRP, after identifying the area of concern, standardized medical photos captured. Special gentle and sterile techniques and equipment are used to separate and concentrate the platelets and plasma from a small sample of blood taken from your own body.
With this improved platelet concentration, PRP also contains growth factors and cytokines. These are responsible for stimulating and enhancing hair follicle function for stronger and longer hair growth duration. Patients with weak quality hair growth areas on the scalp, where functioning hair follicles can still be observed. These are ideal candidates for PRP.

PRP therapy follows in three steps and may need up to three treatments at an interval of 4–6 weeks i.e. one month particularly. This then followed with treatments required for maintaining the hair growth after every 4–6 months.
Step 1: Blood, taken from the patient’s body, and then centrifuged in the device.
Step 2: It separates platelets from other blood components. This causes the red blood cells to settle at the bottom of the vial. In this centrifuged blood above the red blood cells, it contains the white blood cells and platelets with plasma. The highest layer contains a clear solution which is actually a blood plasma.
Step 3: Doctor then removes the platelet-poor plasma i.e. PPP and separates the white blood cells from the platelet-rich plasma i.e. PRP. The doctor then uses this Platelet-rich plasma for the therapy.
