Minoxidil for beard growth
Types of Minoxidil
Minoxidil comes in various forms such as liquid or in foam-based
Liquid-based minoxidil
Liquid-based minoxidil is cheaper in cost as compared to foam-based minoxidil lotion. But it has one drawback. When liquid-based minoxidil applied to the face, it can cause dryness over the face. This liquid-based minoxidil consists of propylene glycol, which is the main culprit for the dryness.
Foam based minoxidil
Foam based minoxidil has moisturizing agents, so it can be gentle to your skin, resulting in less to no dryness.
How can we use (minoxidil for beard growth)
Applying minoxidil needs patience and discipline, you cannot directly apply it. It takes time to see minoxidil results, so don’t get demotivated in the initial phase.
Step 1: Wash your face
Wash your face with a cleanser. A cleanser should have a gentle pH balanced cleanser. Because if you wash with soap or any hard chemical containing face wash, then it may dry out your skin, hence leading to irritation to the skin, after the application of minoxidil.
Step 2: Amount of Minoxidil
As per the study, we always recommended applying minoxidil only 2 ml in a day. Therefore, we advise you to apply minoxidil 1 ml in the morning after bath & 1 ml at night before 2-3 hours of sleep. An ideal time between 1st application & 2nd application should be at least 8 to 12 hrs.
Step 3: Application of minoxidil lotion
1st apply minoxidil wherever you can see patches over the beard. Then apply the rest of the beard area gently. Remember, you should keep minoxidil for minimum of 4 hours and maximum of 12 hours. Then you can rinse with plain water.
Step 4: Immediately after application
Immediately after applying Minoxidil, gently rub the minoxidil for 30 sec to 1 min so that minoxidil gets absorbed into your skin. Massage or rub with the tip of your finger by using 2- 3 finger i.e index finger, middle finger and ring finger.
Step 5: Wash your hands
As I have mentioned earlier, minoxidil is used for hair growth of hair and it has some chemical content, so to avoid any sort of difficulties, I will advise you to wash your hand properly, till the minoxidil lotions are gone.
