Causes of Hair Loss
The human body naturally loses hair every day. But when a person starts losing more than 100 strands a day, then that becomes a matter of concern. Hair loss can cause stress and anxiety. In addition to this, it can cause an identity crisis in a person.
Let us check out some leading reasons for hair loss:
- Hormonal changes
- Genetics
- Age
- Stress
- Nutritional Deficiency
Apart from the reasons mentioned above, certain prescription drugs, such as blood thinners, some arthritis medications, antidepressants, gout medication, medication for certain heart problems, blood pressure medication, and birth control pills, medications for seizure disorders among others, may cause hair loss as a side effect.
One of the ways practiced by people to stop hair loss is Hijama or Cupping Therapy.
What is Hijama for Hair Loss?
Several people consider hijama therapy for hair loss and also claim that hijama is one of the best therapies for hair loss. Hijama therapy for hair is the same as it is done in the rest of the parts of the body. Following are the steps to follow to mitigate hair loss:
- To begin Hijama therapy for hair, the patient must first shave their hair. Also, patients who have hair but are experiencing regular hair loss should shave their heads.
- The cups are placed on the areas of your scalp where you have lost hair. Cupping therapy uses a maximum of 5 cups on the head at one time.
- The cups are removed after a short period. This is done to mark a place where the cups shall be placed. The cups’ marks can be seen on the scalp. After the cups are removed from the scalp, the therapist will make small cuts there. Following that, the cups are reattached and made airtight.
- The therapist will leave the cups in place for a few minutes to extract the dirty blood.
Role of Hijama in Treating Hair Loss
Hijama for hair loss treatment is postulated to increase the blood flow by increasing the nitric oxide levels. Thereby, it delivers nutrients to the hair roots making them stronger and preventing hair fall.
It also removes the oxidants from the scalp and hair follicles and therefore reduces the oxidative stress from the body.
However there is not much scientific backing behind hair loss prevention and Hijama therapy. It is therefore recommended to consult an experienced dermatologist and get the right treatment for your hair loss.
